As hard as it seems to believe, this was my first ever across the pond. The mission was simple: arrive in Germany and pick up Ron's brand new ASW-22BL at the Schleicher factory in Poppenhausen. Then travel by road with the glider, of course, through Switzerland on to St. Auban, France. There I would take some mountain soaring instruction while Ron would train for the upcoming 1997 World Gliding Championships. After that I would take a train and travel across France to Paris, where I would spend a few days. It all turned out rather well.

[Note: Germany and Switzerland pictures coming soon...]
